Hi friends and family,
I’m embarking on the 4 Pink Wheels challenge to support Protea Place – a vital initiative that’s close to my heart.
Homelessness is a harsh reality for far too many women in our community. Over 500 vulnerable women in Toowoomba, the Darling Downs, and the Southern Downs regions are without a safe and stable place to call home. These women – our mothers, daughters, sisters, and grandmothers – are part of the “hidden homeless,” often forced to live in cars, couch surf, or endure unsafe situations.

Protea Place Inc
Protea Place Womens' Support Centre is a site-based crisis and support center for women experiencing homelessness, domestic and family violence or disadvantage. We provide an integrated model of dignity services (meals, showers, laundry, clothing, toiletries) along with rapid response support housing, health and safety. We provide advocacy and referral services to women in need along with practical elements such as setting up homes when accommodation is secured.PP receives no government funding and relies 100% on philanthropic support, sponsorship and community grants to operate.
